This is already the most talked about trend in 2023. And Yes It Works!!!!!
DND stands for Do Not Disturb, basically setting limits to how much time you spend on apps, how much time/energy you're giving to others and keeping ourselves so busy we don't give time to focus on us. Social Media is not a bad thing if done moderately but it's also the most silent trigger because you normally don't notice it's an issue until you're extremely overwhelmed.
Solution? Practicing DND ERA
I have two options, one I personally do and one option I was advised by Jasmine: Just glow with it Podcast (love her). What I personally do is once a month for five to seven days I hide my social media icons off my home screen. This keeps me from opening apps just because I see them. Turning off all notifications to apps. People I talk to on the daily (my mom lol) are informed I will have my phone DND for a while. After doing these three steps I was online less plus It helped me with my willpower. Also giving me some personal selfcare time without my phone blowing up.
Option two is really for people who use social media for work. So what she suggested we do is go one to three months on DND ERA. Basically the only time you are on social media is to work(THAT'S IT). No personal scrolling and set a timer on how long you're online.
Please remember we do not strive for perfection we search for balance so don't beat yourself up. Everyone's lifestyle is different so people will get to this point at different times. Trying is always better than doing nothing at all.
